Interesting Health Tip of the Month ; Lack of Sleep Reduces a Man's Sperm Drastically (Details)

Lack of sleep can reduce a person's sperm count by up to a fourth in addition to reducing their quality, a new study warns.
Researchers found that men who slept poorly had lower sperm counts and fewer sperm that had formed correctly, compared with men who slept better.

 Sperm count

"Given the facts that approximately 20 per cent of all young men may have reduced semen quality, and that sleep disturbances are common and increasing in industrialised countries, the results of this study may have important public health implications," researchers said.
They said future studies should look at whether interventions aimed at improving sleep might also improve semen quality, 'MyHealthNewsDaily' reported.
The researchers used data from 953 young men who were mostly in their late teens and early 20s.
They asked the men how well they had slept in the previous four weeks, conducted blood tests to measure their hormone levels and analysed their semen.
As many as 15 per cent of the men said they had found it difficult to fall asleep, and 13 per cent of them reported sleeping restlessly.

In general, the worse that men slept, the poorer the quality of their semen was.
Men who had slept the poorest had a 25 per cent reduction in sperm count, and had 1.6 per cent fewer sperm that were morphologically normal, compared with men who reported low levels of sleep disturbances.
The researchers accounted for factors that could affect the results, such as men's alcohol consumption, smoking and age.
They said there were no differences in hormone levels across the groups.
The study does not prove that there is a cause-and-effect relationship between sleep quality and sperm counts, researchers said.
However, there are plausible ways to explain the link, the researchers said.
The researchers said it may be that sleep disturbances alter nighttime testosterone rhythms, without affecting overall testosterone levels.

So what should i do Ladies, I miss Sleep a lot

Alexandra Burke As You've Never Seen Her Before At The Royal Albert Hall From 4th To 8th June 2013

From Tuesday 4- Saturday 8 June 2013, X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke takes residence in Royal Albert Hall's Elgar Room for her own unique concert version of Lady Sings The Blues. Following in the footsteps of her idols Billie Holiday and Diana Ross, Alexandra will perform, with a full jazz band, her own take on the legendary 1972 film soundtrack of the same name.
Starring the queen of Motown, Diana Ross, and nominated for 5 Oscars, Lady Sings the Blues is the classic film and soundtrack that followed the life and career of legendary jazz singer and songwriter Billie Holiday from late childhood to the latter stages of her career and included many of her famous songs. This live concert version, for the first time ever, will revisit this soundtrack as Alexandra and her band put their own spin on these remarkable jazz standards and the life and career of the one of the world's most cherished performers. Very much in homage to both Billie Holiday and Diana Ross, it seems only fitting that Alexandra performs this show at the Royal Albert Hall nearly 60 years after Billie Holiday made her only appearance at the venue for a special one-off concert in 1954.

Alexandra Burke said, "I am so excited to be performing these concerts in such an iconic venue. It is an honour to be able to sing Billie Holiday's songs and I feel a very strong emotional attachment to them. Music is my life and I love doing different and surprising things, so I can't wait to get on stage and sing these amazing and timeless songs"

Since emerging as victor of the X Factor in 2008, Alexandra's career has gone supernova. Her debut single 'Hallelujah', became the Christmas No.1 and the fastest selling single by a female artist in UK chart history. A further two No.1 singles followed, 'Bad Boys' and 'Start Without You', alongside a double platinum No.1 debut album 'Overcome', that has to date sold over 2 million copies worldwide. After touring the UK with a string of sell out gigs, Alexandra returned last year with the No.2 single 'Elephant' and her second album 'Heartbreak On Hold'. She recently recorded a cover of 'Live and Let Die' for use on The X Factor USA. However, this live concert adaptation is sure to present Alexandra in an entirely different way and as you've never seen her before!
This event is part of the Royal Albert Hall's More At The Hall series which presents a diverse range of excellent value events outside of the main auditorium including jazz, comedy, classical and world music. The Hall looks to provide memorable visitor experiences for all and, as a charity, these own-promoted events form a part of its extensive public benefit remit.
Jasper Hope, Chief Operating Officer at the Royal Albert Hall, said "No other artist has held a residency in the Elgar Room but when we heard what Alexandra wanted to do it we simply had to make it happen.  Seeing any artist in such an intimate space is an incredible experience but to be able to enjoy Alexandra's cabaret performance of those incredible songs is going to be a knock-out start to the summer."

BoyVig talks football : Who wins the EPL Player of the Year this season?

Left for BoyVig, We love Fellaini's impressive and superb form this season.

Everton's Marouane Fellaini was simply superb through the opening half of the season and was instrumental in the Toffees' strong run towards the top of the table.
Through his 18 appearances for the Merseyside club, Fellaini bagged himself eight goals, three assists and five man-of-the match awards, and was one of the best go-to attackers in the league.

Yet, one momentary brain-snap on Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross which saw him suspended for three matches (per The Independent) means that the Belgian simply won't win the award. There's just no way that the league would give it to him—not after that action.
Plus, eight goals through 18 games isn't completely unheard of either.

We're few games away from the climax of the current English Premier League season and already we've been witness to several breathtaking performances from a number of players.

Names that we expect to succeed like Robin van Persie and Steven Gerrard have done just that, but we've also seen the emergence of several players who we hadn't quite expected to do as well—names like Michu, Christian Benteke, Santi Cazorla,Theo Walcott, Eden Hazard and Fellaini.

Either way, it's been a spectacular season to date and the player who walks away with the Premier League Player of the Year Award will certainly have to have done something special.

Last season, it was Vincent Kompany, who captained Manchester City to their first league title in 44 years; who will be the EPL's Player of the Year in 2013?

I really think and wish that more arsenal players fill the spots on the Awards list next season

Rethinking stress may help overcome stage fright

Learning to rethink the way we view our shaky hands, pounding heart, and sweaty palms can help people deal with stage fright and perform better both mentally and physically, a new study has found.
Before a stressful speaking task, simply encouraging people to reframe the meaning of these signs of stress as natural and helpful is a surprisingly effective way of handling stage fright, found the study published in the journal Clinical Psychological Science.

Stress feelings just mean that our body is preparing to address a demanding situation.

"The problem is that we think all stress is bad," said Jeremy Jamieson, the lead author on the study and an assistant professor of psychology at the University of Rochester.
"We see headlines about 'Killer Stress' and talk about being 'stressed out,'" Jamieson said.
Before speaking in public, people often interpret stress sensations, like butterflies in the stomach, as a warning that something bad is about to happen, he said. "But those feelings just mean that our body is preparing to address a demanding situation," said Jamieson.
"The body is marshaling resources, pumping more blood to our major muscle groups and delivering more oxygen to our brains," he said. Our body's reaction to social stress is the same flight or fight response we produce when confronting physical danger.

These physiological responses help us perform, whether we're facing a bear in the forest or a critical audience. For many people, especially those suffering from social anxiety disorder, the natural uneasiness experienced before giving a speech can quickly tip over into panic.
"If we think we can't cope with stress, we will experience threat. When threatened, the body enacts changes to concentrate blood in the core and restricts flow to the arms, legs, and brain," he said.
Such calming techniques, researchers said, may be helpful in situations that do not require peak performance. But when gearing up for a high-stakes exam, a job interview, or a speaking engagement, reframing how we think about stress may be a better strategy.
